Mary Hensley

Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer  

Mary Hensley is vice president and chief compliance officer for VITAS Healthcare, one of the nation’s leading providers of end-of-life care.

Mary is responsible for managing the VITAS Compliance and Ethics Program and promoting ethical conduct across the organization. In addition, she provides guidance on matters related to compliance risks, including effective compliance communication, training programs, and HIPAA practices. She also serves as chair of the VITAS Compliance Committee, assuring effective reporting of auditing and monitoring activities.

In 2006, Mary began her career at VITAS as a patient care administrator. While demonstrating leadership, compassion, and dedication to her patients and teammates, Mary earned promotions to general manager, national patient care administrator, and senior regional director of compliance. In July 2023, Mary was appointed associate compliance officer.

Mary holds a bachelor's degree in nursing from Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois.
